It was about time to put our ideas into action! E-WISEE offered a unique opportunity of collaboration with Youth Workers in order to built an experiential glossary! This will be achieved through collecting and recording the conversations that occured during the workshops!
We divided the thematics of the glossary into three workshops. The first one was about participants’ predictions about the workshops to follow and what terms they think an experiential glossary should include. After discussing with youth workers, we moved on to the second part of the workshop which was around sex and gender.
The second workshop revolved around a “survey” of what the participants thought inclusive and emotional education meant. After discussing that, and using participants’ personal experience,we tried explain the age factor and how our hormones are affected by it, questioning and exploring sexuality in general. Finally, we talked about the LGBTQIA+ community and its flags and familiarised ourselves with the terminology of the community.
The third and final Workshop had the opportunity to explore how Inclusive and Emotional Education can become a solution to abusive behaviours and patterns. We saw some videos, heard songs and campains that dealt with abusive behaviors, gender-based violence, homophobia, transphobia and rights violations. We defined some behaviors and talked about personal experiences. But how do we, as youth workers, deal with it? And that’s where we started to give solutions for inclusive behavior, inclusive education, accessible by all and for all!!!
Three workshops, many themes, and the creation of an experiential glossary! Zest, energy, youth workers and creativity!
